OUR LOCAL & GLOBAL IMPACT
House of Love Party
Legacy hosted House of Love's Christmas Party. House of Love is a christian ministry that we support. It provides group home services to girls and young women who cannot be adequately served by foster care because of the extent of their past trauma. All the girls and the staff enjoyed dinner and received the christmas gifts we collected with our giving tree outreach. Our volunteers welcomed everyone, served dinner, prepared desserts, served drinks, and cleaned up during the event. The party was a success. Throughout the event you could see how much we were impacting these girls lives.
Our members chose tags off our Giving Tree and donated the item on the tag(s). All these items were Christmas gifts for those in our area that were otherwise not going to get gifts this season. Gifts were collected for House of Love which is a ministry we support that provides group home services to girls and young women who cannot be adequately served by foster care because of the extent of their past trauma.
Hat & Mitten Tree
Our 1KIDS Ministry had a very special Christmas project this year! They collected hats, mittens, and scarves for our Hat & Mitten Tree. All donations went to "Parents Place" in Waukesha, whose mission is to strengthen families and protect children through prevention, intervention, and education in Southeastern Wisconsin. We were able to donate 99 items!
Legacy had a booth at the Menomonee Falls Halloween Downtown event. We were able to help kids participate in safe trick or treating, pass out candy, and get our name out there in hopes to reach those who do not have a relationship with God. Over 1,000 children came through our booth!
Thanksgiving Food Drive
We hosted a Thanksgiving Food Drive with the Falls Area Food Pantry once again! We collected stuffing mix, mashed potatoes, canned yams, canned vegetables, canned cranberries, canned gravy, and boxed bread mix. All these items were given to each client to help them have a blessed thanksgiving. Legacy was able to provide enough food for 81 families!
Angels of the Road Ride for Veterans
On September 8, sixteen people from Legacy volunteered for the Angels of the Road ride to benefit the Homeless Veterans Initiative.
We hosted a Backpack Drive with the Falls Area Food Pantry and collected 67 backpacks that went to students in need in our community.
Second Annual Golf Outing
On August 17 we had our Second Annual Golf Outing! The proceeds of this event go exclusively to help support our local outreach ministries so we can continue to bless and be active in our local community.
Throughout the year we collect plastic grocery bags for Mercy Mats. They crochet the bags into sleeping mats for the homeless. Providing the homeless a mat to sleep on and keep them warm.
All year long we collect donations to go to our global outreach KORE. Legacy also matches these donations. KORE trains and helps people in Haiti create an egg or chicken business to support their families. Money donated also helps provide for the immediate needs of children by adding chicken and eggs to their diets.
Easter Egg Hunt
Legacy hosted a community wide Easter Egg Hunt for children that attend our church as well as children from our community. The children and adults had a blast and we got to bless all these families with a safe and fun Easter Egg Hunt.
Night to Shine
This February we hosted the Tim Tebow Foundation's Night to Shine Prom for people with special needs. 120 guests were able to attend our prom with the help from 222 volunteers! Globally, 655 churches across all 50 states and 24 countries hosted Night to Shine. Click HERE to check out the highlight video from our event!
MF House Fire Donations
In January, a Menomonee Falls family had a house fire losing everything. Our church donated items so they would have the necessities they needed.
Financial Peace University
Legacy hosted Financial Peace University and 10 people graduated from it. They now have the tools they need to make wise financial decisions.
On January 18 we hosted a family movie night for our church and our community. We showed the movie "Incredibles 2". This was a great opportunity for our community to have a free movie night with their family and enjoy it with others at Legacy.
